Aug-17-01, 01:31 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Chicago - L version 0.6a WHAT DO YOU THINK??" THANKS!!!!! It's GREAT! Much better than the previous versions. My only question is: I did not get any "Press Enter to Load" message for loading the passengers and no oral "OK to Proceed". I think in the old version this feature was enabled. Is there a simple way we can add it? Thanks and best regards, Bob. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-17-01, 08:50 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Chicago - L version 0.6a WHAT DO YOU THINK??" I think it's the way the MSTS platforms are designed, I may have placed a few backwards on accident. Next time I can sit down in front of it, I plan to look at that, because I got the same thing when testing it. Eithier that or because the new train consists are all of engines and no passenger cars. I did this to "beef up the train" and to remove the visible pantagraphs from the roof of the train. This may have caused that also. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-18-01, 10:17 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Chicago - L version 0.6a WHAT DO YOU THINK??" LOVE IT!
The only problems I've encountered with it: The "subway" portions are a bit disconcerting...hard to tell a station from a safety walkway but it is a GREAT start. Also I seem to have a similar problem to that of "Familton" in that I get no passenger load/unload or ok to procede messages. All in all, though, IMHO it's the best one yet (and I've been with it since v1!)Thanks for continuing to share this with the community. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-20-01, 01:07 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Chicago - L version 0.6a WHAT DO YOU THINK??" Cyko,
This is a great route, exciting and visually entertaining. and this version finally foes not crash on my system after a few minutes, as the past ones did. I have enjoyed it, including the great subway- why is it that no one has been able to do that before?! Thanks for sharing and if you ever ever get bored you can start on a NYC subway route! I would love it.

Aug-20-01, 09:48 AM (EST) 7. "RE: Chicago - L version 0.6a WHAT DO YOU THINK??" LAST EDITED ON Aug-20-01 AT 10:13 AM (EST)I agree about the subway appearence, this past weekend I layed track for the "Blue" line from LaSalle to Logan Square, and I have found a way to create an open air platform. (Where you can see across the station to the tracks in the other direction.) It's a bit more time consuming, but overall it looks a great deal better than having just the edge hanging out of the tunnel. The not asking to load / unload comes in with the consists... I made the consists as all engines to simulate true 'L' mu control, as well as the removal of the pantagraphs, and b/c there were no passenger cars in the consists, the sim dosen't see a way to load and unload. So from now on when I make a 2 car consist, instead of a fron and a rear engine, I will make it an engine and a rear facing passenger car.edit: Also I wanted to address the NYCTA issue. I have had many requests to try a NYCTA route, but I must decline all of them. The reason I chose the Chicago 'L' is because of my familiarity with the system. Not only have I obsessed over it for the last few months, but I actually had the pleasure of calling it my home a couple nights when I was stranded in Chicago. Whereas the NYCTA, all I know about it are a few pictures and route maps I've seen.
If I do decide to try another route it'll probably be the IC from Memphis North, or the BNSF / Frisco around the Memphis area, like from Kansas City, to Birmingham, or something of that sort. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-24-01, 09:12 AM (EST) 9. "RE: Chicago - L version 0.6a WHAT DO YOU THINK??" I am have more fun with this route than any of the routes that came with the game. One question though and I apologize if it has been asked and answered. Running the activities with the route there is a red signal coming around the loop that never seems to go green. What's is the solution here, hit the "tab" key and get an OK to proceed or set it as failed? I opened Brown Line activity in the editor but can't seem to figure out how to alter the signal function.
