Yep, they're using it in the absence of their ex T&NO SP MK-5 Mikado, #786. 786 has a cracked cylinder saddle, that in 1999 after a hot journal on a driver showed itself. It is believed that it was from an accident on SP in the 1920's. It was thought that the crack could be repaired by welding it. However, a new saddle must be fabricated. While it has been down these three years, it came time for retubing the boiler. They acid washed it and shipped the boiler off for retubing. It is hoped it can be back together again by late 2003, early 2004. Saw it before it was repainted (ALCo) It smokes like one, too! They've had to replace a traction motor or two and an entire axle. They have ATCX 443, another 'gator, for parts, but not painted. They both came from Indiana- Indiana Hy-Rail???
