I have a 32 mb nVidia TNT2 M64 Pro card and have no problems other than low frame rates (6 - 15) if I select graphics above 800 x 600. I downloaded the updated 12.41 driver from www.nvidia.com before installing MSTS. I have adjusted DirectX 8.0 Sound Debug Output Level to "Less". I also kill all other applications running in the background before running MSTS. Dell XPST Pentium III
750 Mhz.
384 Meg RAM
Windows 98 SEAfter all that tweaking, I've have come to the conclusion that I need a new video card if I want to improve my frame rates on MSTS.Good luck! Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

I think that 800MHz machine should do better, but Ati Rage128 is too slow. That problem may be caused by too big resolution for the monitor. I set the res. to 1280x1024 and got black screen. Is there a shortcut key to "exit activity"? (other than reset button)Enocell Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-15-01, 01:34 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Starts up to black screen, then freezes.." I have a Diamond viper 770 which is based on the Nvidia TNT2 chipset. When I loaded MSTS it did the same as you are reporting. MY fix was to download the latest drivers from Nvidia rather then Diamond and all worked well.regardsDoug Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
