Aug-13-01, 11:26 AM (EST) "Best Railway book I've come across!" Just purchased "ULTIMATE TRAIN" by Peter Herring from DK Books, ISBN # 0-7894-4610-3
It is by far the best railroad book I've seen in a long time, lots of detailed engine photos and histories.Rich

Aug-14-01, 11:54 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Best Railway book I've come across!" By all means buy it thru the above web-link at Amazon. They are less then what I paid in a local bookstore ($24.98 + 6% tax) and as Nels says it helps support this site!Rich

Aug-14-01, 11:49 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Best Railway book I've come across!" The book is pretty much international, but not leaning too much on any one country. It was printed in Hong Kong (where else but Asia do they print books anymore.)
The photos are really outstanding, many early color shots.
Rich
