Northumerland means that is where the unit is based out of. Northumberland is in Central PA and about 100-150 miles south of where I live and is on the NS Buffalo Line (Buffalo, NY to Harrisburg, PA, ex-CR nee-Pennsy). It looks like the stenciling was put on by Conrail, so the unit is probably not based out of Northumberland anymore. Where exactly are these two yards at?

The CSX yard is in Cayce, South Carolina. The Norfolk Southern Yard is in Columbia, South Carolina. From the CSX yard to the Norfolk Southern is about a 6 mile drive. BTW thanks for the info about the conrail unit.

Northumberland?! My grandparents live close to there. My cousin used to work for the North Shore RR,which interchanges with NS there. He let me come in the cab of SW9 446 and do the usal freight run. It was very fun. I was younger back then.Mike
