I have some bad news. For those of you that live around Chicago, you probably have seen the Metra F40Cs. Metra has order new locomotives. They are stretch F59PHIs. They are ment to replace all of the F40Cs and some of the older F40PHs. For those of you who trainwatch around the Metra area of the old Milwauke Road lines, now owned by CPRail, get your shots of these old girls now, while they are still around. They started service on the 2 Metra lines in 1971.
Farewell to them. There numbers are 600-614. As you can see, I love these old locomotives.NW 1218

Some of these are gone, and the rest will be going soon. This does not include the R38s, R40s, R42s, R40Ms, and the beloved R32 Brightliners, which will be replaced by the R160 order to be delivered by 2006 with an option for over 1000 more cars to be delivered by 2009.
