A few days ago, I installed the Whitefish/Sandpoint Route by Charles Dollins. The install worked fine, and I opened Train Sim and everything looked Okay.
When I opened the route in Explore mode, and the two activity modes, as it was opening, I recieved this Error Message."Train world initialization failed"I do not know if there ar any other error messages, as I could not get past this one. Has anyone else had this problem, and how do I correct it. Any help or advice will be greatly apreciated.
Thank You..Daniel

RE: NEED HELP Re Whitefish-Sandpoint Rte.

I had to copy and paste a copy of the EZStuff batch file from another route (Ohio Rail in my case) for it to work for me. If you simply extracted the Whitefish zip files into a folder it's not going to run until you run the batch file to copy the necessary files from the other routes.Mr. F

RE: NEED HELP Re Whitefish-Sandpoint Rte.

Here's a better batch file to use:http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/User_files/3cc0c6cf43cc5f54.zipEdited version of EZstuff that copies only the USA2 and Template files, so it don't take up as much space. Download that, unzip it and paste into the \Whitefish folder and run it.FYI, "Train World initialization failed" is not very intuitive, the error means it's not finding the environment files that the .trk file is looking for, which in the case of the Whitefish route comes from \Template\Envfiles, not USA2\Envfiles.

RE: NEED HELP Re Whitefish-Sandpoint Rte.

HI Sniper and All;Thanks for all your replies, I will try to apply your suggestions today and hopefully get to operate the Whitefish route.
Yes, I did run the batch file, and also I found Snipers suggestion in in an earlier post by doing a search."Copy the \Enviles folder from \Train Simulator\Templates and paste it into the whitefish folder."I followed your instructions, and it worked. I got past the error message, only to be confronted with another error.
I.e, Whitefish\terrtex\terrain.ace.I may try and reinstall the two segments of the route, and add all your suggestions, then try to run the route.
My thanks again for all your help, and I will let you know if I get it to work or not.Daniel

RE: NEED HELP Re Whitefish-Sandpoint Rte.

Hi,About that terrain.ace.
As I remember well, quite a long time ago, you have to copy terrain.ace from the Template route.
But I remember also that there was another file that was to be renamed to terrain.ace. It is stated somewhere in the readme.
And don't forget the snow subfolder of the Terrtex folder.Dick van den HovenNEED HELP Re Whitefish-Sandpoint Rte – image 2
