Jun-04-01, 05:05 PM (EST) "Please help!!" I just bought Train Sim today and I cannot get it to run. I installed it completely the first time and once i hit play it goes to blank screen jumps down to 640X480 res and the hourglass just stays there. It hangs with a black screen with hourglass. I uninstalled it and tried it again same thing. I have an ASUS MB with 1ghz Athlon FC-PGA, 256 megs SDRAM and 32 meg Geforce 256DDR. Everything else including flight sim 2000 and midtown madnes 2 runs with no problem. I am running direct x 8.0. I even reinstalled direct x but have the same problem. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks
Dana

Jun-05-01, 04:24 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Please help!!" This may sound really basic but have you tried to hit the spacebar when the screen seems to hang. My system did the same thing because for some reason it wouldn't play the silly little animation logo before loading the actual program. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jun-06-01, 03:18 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Please help!!" It is probably hanging on the brief .MPG movie.
Simply rename or delete it: ..\train simulator\global\startup.mpg Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jun-13-01, 05:53 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Please help!!" I had the same problem with my Creative Soundblaster Live card.
I opened the options package in my sound card and found three possible configurations to select. One was titled "Game compatible Device". the other two were multimedia playback options. I selected the game device and restarted my computer. It works fine now. You might take a look at your card properties and see if you can make the change that I did. I can always go back to the "Music" if I want. However, I've played a couple of CD's with the "game" seting and can't hear much difference. Good luck.....
