Anyone want a free ride on Amtrak? It's only happening on Monday from Chicago to Milwaukee. See the link for more information: http://abclocal.go.com/wls/news/102602_ns_freeride.html Ken Keep Amtrak "United We Stand." "Love America or Get Out!"
Heh. I have a card (very old) that I carry at all times. This card was originally issued by the L&N railroad, and laminated a few dozen years ago. The card allows the bearer to ride the then L&N passenger trains, now Amtrak, anywhere I want for free. The way I got it is my Great Grandfather Jess Wrenn was a section foreman for the L&N for 40 odd years. I have a pic of him and his crew taken around 1919
Strange...Are those cards only issued to close family members of valued workers or sumthin? And about those middle-east gurus that meditate on top of passenger cars...1. How do they breathe? 2. How do they get back inside the car in time to get out of the way of a tunnel roof?3. Are they on narcotics or sumthin?4. Are they glued to the top of the cars? Anyone I know would slide off as soon as the train got movin (personally, I'd be glued in one spot too if I was in their position).5. Are they relatives of Osama bin Laden? (that John Walker Lindh guy said bin Laden sat down a lot, and lost his breath real easily)
