Greetings all; First the bad news, my Mom and Dad's home burned to the ground yesterday and all contents are lost. Mom and Dad and all the pets got out OK so that's good. My task is to track down titles to replace Dad's very extensive railroad library, had some luck finding some rare and out of print titles but I'm having no luck at all so far in finding Official Guides. Ineed to find some from the years 1950-1970 any help to links etc.. would be greatly appreciated.Thanx in advanceJeff
Jeff, You might want tto try looking on Ebay. Sometimes you will get lucky and get items at a steal and others you will get screwed. Sorry to hear about your parents trouble. I hope you all will find what you are looking for. "Keep on Trucking by Train"Erik Pierson Sacramento, Ca www.sacramentolocomotiveworks.comBringing 1940s Southern Pacific to the digital age.
I'm so sorry Jeff.....it must be terrible living through that. My prayers are with you and your family.Greg HighV0lt6ge - AIM/AOL gregoryis411@hotmail.com

Thanks for the kind words of support. I'll look in to EBay, the adjuster won't even be out 'til mid-week so... any bidding will be off in the future. I've actually tracked down most of the old, rare, or out-of-print titles, it's just not easy finding esoteric (yet highly usefull) things like Official Guides and O.E.R.'s. Thanx again!Jeff
Jeff,Sorry to hear about the fire, but glad your parents and their pets got out okay.Depending on where you're located, the various Train (model and otherwise) shows might be a good place to look as well. Sometimes folks will have such items for sale, particularly as a part of Estate sale where one of our brethren have passed on and their family is trying to dispose of the train-related items.Good luck.Henry
