BART, Bay Area Rapid Transit! or something like that. Its out in San Fansico California. I also like CalTrain, It has one dieseal engine on the front and one on the back, and all of their cars were double-deckers. I loved riding those because I've never been in a double-decker before. -----------------------------

>out in San Fansico California. Theres also another commuter
>railroad but the name escape me right now.
>Phew I thought you were talking BART Simpson !!GO Transit !!LaterPS: I personally don't like BART as there is a "gentleman" at our model railroad club that ALL he freakin' talks about is BART. BART is all he runs
BART this !!
BART that !!
my BART is better then your VIA " Canadian " 15 car set
my BART can get around the layout faster than your 65 car CP freight
I wish my name were BART
BART is a little boy with yellow skin
Soon I want to have 3 more BART carsPhew I think I feel a little better now

Ok I found pictures of the CalTrain engine, maybe someone can tell me what they are.
Heres one of the cars it pulls, and I retract my previous statement, theres only one of these engine per train, not two.

Why the big deal?LOTS of locomotive and car fleets have that number. It just happens that the engines on Caltrain are 900-922.Amtrak has 900-953 on their AEM-7's.

I do agree that the paint scheme on Caltrain nowadays IS ugly. They used to have a solid silver body, with the red/white nose striping -- but with attractive light blue and teal striping that angled up in the back (hockey-stick style, but with a little curve in it). However, the red stripe livery HAS improved the looks of the gallery cars these locos haul -- they used to be solid bare metal with black lettering. The addition of the red stripe and the large logo IS an improvement on the cars.

Most of the Caltrain engines are EMD F40PH-2's, units 900-919. Units 920-922 are F40PH-2C's, built by Boise Loco. Many of the EMD's were rebuilt in recent years and had their rear hood extended to house a separate engine for Head End Power to cut down on noise. They look different, but they are still F40PH-2's.
