First of all I'm in love with Train Sim. It's as real as it gets. I showed it to my 80 yr old father. He worked for a Canadian Railroad for 45 yrs. Showed him the basics and let him take a train out for a run. Well - he was happy and I think I saw his eyes water a bit. Fond memories of long ago. All was missing was the smell of the engine cab and the air on your face when you stick your head out of the cab. So to all the people out there who are making new rolling stock, engines and activities - a heart felt thanks; both from me and my father. Now I can't get much play time myself. He wants to play train.
Now for my major problem. I downloaded from "3dtrains" their "EMD F7A demo" (ver1.34). Installed it and liked it. So I tried to create an activity for it (small freight run). Saved it ok and then shut down the sim and powered off the computer.
Next day started the sim and wanted to run my new Emd F7a activity. As the Train sim loaded I got this message " Failed
Loading Activity Headers" continue yes/no. I picked yes and on it went till I got the main screen (run a train/ run a saved event etc...); At this point the system locks up -nothing works??. The only function that is working is load a saved session. The other 3 are locked out. I WANT TO DRIVE A TRAIN. I miss it.
So to all (anyone) HELP!! 1.) is there a way to fix the activity header? 2.) what is the file name (?DAT) that has this bug. I can swap the file from my laptop (it's a couple of days behind). Will this work to fix the activity harder? Just have to re-load on my tower what's missing. Can I edit this file somehow? 3.) I know you can't re-install over it from original or can u?. It there a software to rebuild or re-index this file whatever it is called?
I don't want to delete all the stuff that I have now. I can move some of the items under trainset and consists to other partations if need be. I have some of the downloads saved (not all of them). Any suggestions????.
Can anyone out there clue me in or offer suggestions to fix this problem. A workaround maybe; short of deleting everything and starting from zero all over agin for the 3rd/4th time so far.Bill

"RE: Error Message "failed loading activity header" Help" I have done the same thing you have done with no problems, but I will build anothe activity with the same engine and see if I can do it the second time.
