Yes they do... EMD is the Electro-Motive Division of GMGE (General Electric) also makes diesels engines, like the C44-9W or the "Dash 9".------------------------------------------------------------I'll never let go of the railroad that inspired me to be involved with trains, the Union Pacific!John Ekhoff 14 yr. old Train Sim Reskinner from Abilene, Texas.

EMD is the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors. There is also the Canadian Division of EMD, which is GMD. The EMD Division of GM was formerly located in LaGrange, Illinois. However (best I know) this plant has been shut down, and all GM locomotive production is now performed at the GMD plant in London, Ontario, Canada.Ray
Yep, my good friend Jon actually works at GMD in London, sorry if you wanted that secret Jon. *~þHÃt*Rat~**~classic american playa~* www.atlanticsystem.tk

Ray The LaGrange plant is not only shut down but has been bulldozed and this is no joke someone(I belive GM) actualy was selling the bricks as RR collectables shortly after the demolition
Who??? - EMD?? - no - they have moved to London Ontario Cananda - and they have a plant in Mexico (where most of the BNSF SD70MAC's were built) - i dont think that the move to canada resulted in EMD renamming itself to GMD - please correct me if im wrongcheers Mike
Hi Mike. I'm not saying that EMD was renamed GMD ... GMD was (is?) the title of the Canadian Division of the GM Locomotive Group. Also, I wasn't aware of the plant in Mexico. Where is it exactly??Ray
Yes this is true, back in the 1930's EMD was EMC (Electro-Motive Corporation). General Motors bought this company and EMD was born. Ever since GM has been making locomotives.(whether in Canada or Mexico?). FYI all GE locomotives are built in Erie Pennsylvania I Think.
