Jul-13-01, 01:55 PM (EST) "Virtual Railroad" I have been a member of the Flight Simming Community for going on 4 years and Virtual Airlines make up a major part of that community. When I bought Train Simulatopr I thought that a virtual railroad with assigned routes and trains for the engineers to drive on the routes selected and made by the VR (Virtual railroad. If you like this idea please e-mail me at vaevents@TNMail.com or post a reply to this message.
Thank You,

Jul-14-01, 05:49 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Virtual Railroad" I am glad you brought this up! There are already a few VR's - check out the links page on this site. Some are up and running using the activities that came with MSTS and route explorer with custom consists. I have been involved with VA's for some time myself, and I'm the owner of the VAMC. Thus for the BNSFvr I am setting up realistic yard, local, and road operations for the Marias Pass route of the Hi-Line subdivision of the BNSF Montana Division. I started back in Jan01 in researching the industries and communities along the route, then began determining the freight needs for each on a seasonal (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall) basis. Now that the freightcars and traffic have been mapped out, I am in the middle of developing the custom activities which are necessary for realistic RR operations in much the same fashion that the successful VA's emulate flight ops. The local and road activities that came with MSTS all started in the middle of nowhere and some stopped in the middle of nowhere. Could you imagine a FS flight or adventure that did that? The general principles of running a successful VA also apply to running a VR.Also under construction is the BNSFvr website which will feature antomatic dynamic engineer reports so that their info will appear immediately on the site.Charles B.
