Jul-10-01, 10:48 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Dash-9 dynamic brake." LAST EDITED ON Jul-10-01 AT 10:51 PM (EST)Putting the throttle in idle won't work, you have to hit the A key once more to put it into setup. After 10 seconds you'll hear the noise of the dynamic brakes. Hit the A key to add dynamic brakes from notch 1 to 8. There is a file in the file library to increase the effectiveness of the dynamic brakes. Search for a file by author Wurger. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-10-01, 10:52 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Dash-9 dynamic brake." If you are in neutral - hit the A key one time. This will put you in setup. It takes approx 10 seconds for a reading to show on the ammeter. When it does you are in dynamic braking mode and each time you hit the A key you will see an increase in current and dynamic braking force.

Jul-11-01, 01:50 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Dash-9 dynamic brake.GP-38 dynamic brake." I have not had problems with the Dash-9 dynamics...they work fine for me following the procedure described by BillKunert. Documentation says you need to be moving between 20 and 65 mph, if I recall correctly, for them to work.I have had no success with the GP-38's dynamic brakes. however. No sound effects and no noticeable slowing, but the ammeter suggests they're working and the screen messages do, too. Have you tried them? Any particular tricks to this one?GK Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-11-01, 09:36 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Dash-9 dynamic brake.GP-38 dynamic brake." There have been several posts in this forum for fixes to the dynamic brakes. There is also a fix you can download at 3DTrains.com by "raildriver" that has fixes for both the dash9 and the GP38. Some of these posts include sound fixes so that you can hear the dynamics when they kick in for the GP38 just like the dash9.The dynamics work a lot better with these fixes and sound great too. Search the forum, you'll find the files to load in the game to fix your problem.geepman Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
