Jul-08-01, 10:49 PM (EST) "MSTS vs. TRAINZ" Okay, I got MSTS about three weeks ago, and have not been able to leave it alone. Great game, I really enjoy it and all the add-ons just make it better. On the other hand, I have also been over at the TRAINZ web site and I'm really looking forward to trying out their product. It looks like it will certainly give MSTS a run for it's money. They certainly seem to have far more trains that will be available than Microsoft included with it's game. This led me to conclude two things. First, it will indeed be a better game/simulation and MS rushed their product to market to beat out the competition (which would explain the bugs in the editor...ect). Or two, there is a catch with TRAINZ that i'm not aware of. I know you will have to pay for certain add-ons, but they will be unique items, and you can download the free ones if you want a generic loco, but i'm convinced that apart from that it seems to have everything MSTS has and a bit more. Is there something I'm missing, or will it be a better simulation?

Keep in mind that they are also not exactly the same style of game. MSTS is a prototype simulator, Trainz is being billed as a model railroad simulator. *Big* potential differences in length of runs, selective compression, etc.Regards,
