Jul-08-01, 11:01 AM (EST) "Speeds at Diverging Junctions" There's been several posts indicating frustration over high speeds at diverging junctions. The USA1 route (Amtrak's NEC) has no true home or distant signals. It uses one generic signal for all applications: home, distant, and interval(ABS). Unless one is looking at the track monitor, there's no clue a diverging route, hence a speed reduction, is coming up.I've rewritten the script and configuration files to provide a signal for these conditions:
1)A facing point junction diverging route needing a link in the signal properties dialog.
2)A route that ends at a trailing point junction.
3)A distant signal which will reflect the above two conditions. The 'track object dialog' will show the 3 additional signals as selections as well as the stock signal. They are as complete as the sim will allow without an editor to create entirely new signals. The down side: You need to hand replace any signal instance where you want these features. Adding the edited cfg/src files will not disable the stock signals, it adds additional signal options that aren't in the route until you put them there. If there's interest, I will upload the files to the forum file section.Hank Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
