Mar-12-02, 08:52 PM (EST) "Favorite Movie,Director, and Line." Ok, I'm watching a movie right now; and it's got me thinking of some more fun things to do. Not train related, but just fun.So, here's my idea. Why don't we post what our favorite Movie, Director, and line. Not always from the same movie. So, to start things off, I'll post mine.
Favorite movie would probably be a toss up between Godfather and Casino.Favorite Director? Martin Scorsese.Favorite line? Two from Casino.1. No body sees the desert around Las Vegas, There's a lot of problems buried in that desert. But you gotta have the hole dug when you pull up with the package in your trunk first, cause that's a good half hour digging. And in that half hour, anyone could come by and then you've got a few more holes to be digging. You could be out there all F***ing night.2. Now see these guys, they look busy right? God forbid they should look up and forget to steal. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Mar-15-02, 09:05 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Favorite Movie,Director, and Line." Favourite Director...uh, I actually never troubled me with directors...Favourite Movie...tough choice...I like all Star Treks (4 and 6 are best, IMHO ), Star Wars, Hunt for Red October, Dune...Favourite Quote...well, several actually:* "There's an old Vulcan proverb: 'Only Nixon could go to China'." (Mr. Spock in ST6)* hm...basically everything Clint Eastwood lets loose in "Heartbreak Ridge"...when I first saw it I nearly died of laughing, never heard so much profanity at once ...* "Give me a ping, Vassily...one ping only please!" (Capt. Ramius in Hunt for Red October)* "Who said that?" - "You did...ten years later. You have 58 minutes, Doc - better go through the checklist!" (Dialogue between Zefram Cochrane and Cdr. Riker in ST8)* "Long live the fighters!!!!!!" - Paul Atreides/Muad'dib in DuneD.M.

Favorite Director Lucas, Speilberg,John Ford, and several others.
Favorite Line?
Patton's speech - by George C. Scott
The movie line I use alot is from Robocop - I'd buy that for a dolloar. I did not really like the movie though.Erik Pierson

Mar-15-02, 08:41 PM (EST) 9. "RE: Favorite Movie,Director, and Line." A lot of the same movies you did, but also Cross of Iron, The Big Red One, and Full Metal Jacket.I used to think that the lines from the boot camp scenes (or at least Gunnery Seargent Hartman's lines) in Full Metal Jacket were hillarious, then I reported to MCRD San Diego. As soon as that became reality it was no longer funny (on a side note my brother arrived at MCRD Monday). For those not up on their government acronyms MCRD=Marine Corps Recruit Depot. As for my favorite director I would have to say Robert Mckimson.I remember the local opening night of Saving Private Ryan, I was in a WW2 reenactors group, some of my friends and I went dressed in WW2 uniforms. One of the guys who went along was one of the Germans, boy did he get some looks. The voice of insanity in a seemingly normal world. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
