Auran Releases Community Edition

Auran Releases Community Edition First

In an unprecedented show of thanks and support for their expansive online community, Australian software and game developer, Auran, has announced a special "Community Edition" of its newest game, Trainz®.
Whilst Trainz will not be available in stores until February 2001, Auran has produced a limited number of copies of its Community Edition for sale and immediate distribution online at www.auran.com
Auran CEO, Mr Greg Lane, said the Community Edition is recognition from the Trainz developers of the important role that the community has played in creating the game.
"We wanted to say thanks to everybody online who has helped us to build the game by giving them the first chance to see it; before the reviewers, before the media, before anybody else," Greg said.
The Community Edition is a complete early release version of the game that ships with locomotives from 12 countries, over 50 types of freight and passenger cars, hundreds of buildings, trackside objects, vehicles, flora and fauna and a huge variety of railway items including bridges, tunnels, turntables, signals and crossings.
"Any improvements made to the game between now and when it appears on shelves in February will be available online as service packs and will always include extra items like additional rolling stock or a new building," he said.
Trainz Community Edition has already commenced distribution and can be purchased online now from www.auran.com
