Kalispell & Marias to Change Name

Washington, DC--The Atlantic Coastal Railway's subsidiary, the Kalispell & Marias Railroad, is currently undergoing a series of changes to better serve the Marias Pass in the Pacific Northwest. Since the beginning of August, an international committee meets on a regular basis to discuss all aspects of K&M operations; including motive power, paint schemes, customers and potential passenger services. As part of the discussion, management decided last night to explore a new name for the subsidiary that would better reflect the railroad's image as a major freight hauler.

The name "Atlantic Coastal Kalispell Railway" will serve as an interim name while the committee considers other possibilities. The recently named Director of the Kalispell Railway, Chris Peters, mentioned today on the company's forum that the decision-making process for the new name "ought to have the input of the entire committee; since this railroad operation will benefit us all."

The Atlantic Coastal Railway is one of the largest virtual railroads to use the Microsoft Train Simulator with the virtual airline model to operate the Northeast Corridor between Washington, DC and Philadelphia as well as the Marias Pass in Montana.
