Abacus Announces Three Products

With the end of Summer drawing near, we'd like to tell you what we've been doing to stay busy these past few months. One of our aims was to develop a plan to respond to the thousands of inquiries that we've received from a very active and vocal group of Train Simulator hobbiests.

The result of our planning is now ready and we are happy to present our first three add-ons:

TS Design Studio - software for those who would like to create their own trains and 3D scenery. This very capable software automates the conversion of your designs into ready to use trains - you don't have to manually launch the converters. This new software finds its roots in FS Design Studio - the industry standard for making virtually all new flight simulation aircraft.TS Design Studio is now in formal beta testing and we expect to release this in download version late Fall and in retail box January 2002. Price is $39 by download and $59.95 for retail box. There is also a special upgrade price or registered FS Design Studio users.

LTV/Erie Mining Co. Trainset - developed by Mark Branscum and Marc Nelson of 3dtrains.com, this spectacular package contains the trains used at the historical LTV Steel Mining operation in Hoyt Lakes, MN. LTV acquired the famous Erie Mining Company railroad 40 years ago to transport iron ore from the mines to Taconite Harbor along Lake Superior. Includes the well-known F9s "ABBBA" lashup pulling 45 iron ore gondolas, the GP20s and RS11 switchers busy at work at the mine and processing plant - all in authentic garb. A portion of the sales from this package will go to the families of LTV Steel Mining Co who were recently furloughed due to adverse economic conditions. Available about September 29th in retail box version. Suggested price is $29.95.

TS RoundHouse - a super collection of the best add-ons currently available. We've worked with numerous authors to create this package of new engines, routes, tutorials and more. Some of these are special edition versions that are not available elsewhere. Available about September 15th in retail box. Suggested price is $29.95.
