IV. TECHNICAL QUESTIONS and PROBLEMS:
- (4.1a) What screen resolution is best for MSTS?
- Since it has not been released, we are not sure. It will probably look fine in 800 x 600, yet look noticably better in 1024 x 768 and higher resolutions. Obviously, the drawback of higher resolutions is slower framerates, and so every system will have a different "optimum" resolution.
- (4.1b) What color depth is best for MSTS?
- Once again, since it has not been released, we are not sure. It will probably look fine in high color (16 bit).
- (4.2) Is MSTS compatible with the Trainmaster or Auran's Trainz programs?
- Auran will provide a convertor to allow locomotives and rolling stock from Trainz to be converted for use in MSTS. MSTS, Trainmaster and Trainz are not compatible in any other way.
- (4.3) Can AI locomotives be changed to user-drivable locomotives?
- This question will be answered when the information is available.
Can you answer this question? please email the answer to dappawit@yahoo.com. - (4.4) Is it compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator?
- No. Although MSTS is produced by the same group at Microsoft that created FS, the two use different technology and are not compatible.
