I saw a picture of one of these from a far distance, and I dismissed the seemingly blue nose for the reflection of the lake that was along the tracks. But I just found this picture.. is that a dark grey or blue nose? ------------------------------------------------------------I'll never let go of the railroad that inspired me to be involved with trains, the Union Pacific!

RE: A Different Type of Phase IV?
Thats a Dark gray nose. The lower 100 series p42s have Northeast Corridor written on the lower front sides and the dark gray from the roof continues down to the nose. This is my favorite Phase 4 variant.

RE: A Different Type of Phase IV?
#100-111 have the gray nose with the words "Northeast Corridor" on the lower level corner at the front end. These locomotives usually work the Philadelphia-Harrisburg corridor on Keystone trains, but can also be found on some Acela Regional trains between Washington and Newport News. A few #700 series P-32AC locomotives that run the Empire Corridor can be found in this scheme.
