Jul-28-01, 03:18 PM (EST) "Universal Marker File for every line in the US!" I think I've discovered a way to generate a Universal Marker File for the entire United States. If this works, I'll see about posting the results to the files area. This marker file, if everything goes right, will display both roads and railroads! Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-28-01, 06:13 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Universal Marker File for every line in the US!" The conversion algorithm is running now, and appears to be working well.Since the finished results are likely to be quite large, I'll include a screening program to allow users to narrow down the marker file to a specified range. To address the "find the flag" problem that goes with long, straight routes, the Universal Marker File will include intermediate flags between vertex points. Jul-28-01, 09:31 PM (EST) 4. "It Works!" The conversion routine now works, provided that the user supplies a valid MIF file which shows coordinates. I'm now trying to find the best resolution to use for intermediate waypoints. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
