Most of the usable parts can be found in the SRVOCBrd.zip which has similar deck spans. You may be able to find a suitable arch span in the updated bridges.Excellent selection of pics.Let me get the Forth Bridge done - most complex bridge yet.SRV Ron

RE: Another Big Bridge for Ron P.

There is enough difference in the Mawaukee Road / Beverly Bridge that the OC parts are not quite right including if you want silver or rusted black. Also, there is a power pole built on the bridge sections. Here is a revised test span. The entire bridge is just 3 styles of span not including ends.Forth Bridge has sure caused excitement over the UK forum.SRV Ron

I still can't get over how fast you do these things.............At least the Beverly bridge is under 2000meters (IIRC) so you'll be able to see the whole thing. Todd

RE: Another Big Bridge for Ron P.

Do you plan on using the bridge as new or abandoned? Both photos were present on the pic site.So far, there are four bridge types on that span. Looks like a 150ft deck span, 200ft deck span, hanging 200ft deck span, and a 250ft arch span. I also see some box beam viaduct at the approach and end piers. Both new and abandoned are textured.I have the prototypes of the first three made. Just need to fix the top long girders - they're too long, make the arch span, and piers. May take some time since work is occupying 10+ hours a day not counting the commute time. Leaves little time if any for train sim during the week.SRV Ron

RE: Another Big Bridge for Ron P.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-21-03 AT 08:49 PM (EST)

Numbers sound about right Ron. I was just looking through some books and found one with a four unit Boxcab set on the first span east of the through truss. It looks like that span, just off the through truss, is just a touch shorter than a four unit set which is 224'.The photo is at an angle however so it's a bit difficult to tell for sure.Edit- Found another photo, posted below. (Sorry about the quality) Judging from this, it would appear the span is 225'. That's a three unit set on the bridge, but going off the trusses compared to the motors four motors equals the length of the bridge.Perhaps this straight on side shot will be helpful. End Edit....I just posted a message to a Milwaukee mailist I'm on that has a lot of Lines West guys, so hopefully one of them has the exact span lengths.btw-Brian, just which lines are you guys working on? ALL of the Cascade crossings? Best,
Todd

That pic will make it easy to adjust the length using the scaling tool. I'll keep watch for the length post and can also scale the existing parts to size.SRV Ron

Span lengths for bridge

Here's the span lengths Ron;
EE-2661-82' concrete abutment east end
1-80' deck girder span
3-156' trusses

1-80' deck girder
1- 34' 7" deck girder
1-50' deck girder w/endHope this helps,
Todd

RE: Span lengths for bridge

Thanks for the info. Have printed it and placed it on the stack of pics. I can scale the sections to specs when I am satisfied with their design. The 216ft truss and hanging truss are the same length judging from the pics of the number of braces in the span.SRV Ron

The photos submitted show it in silver although this type of bridge is usually in black as in the pics when it was abandoned. It's easy to change the textures with the right tools. Or, if you don't mind a 3 meg download, can be supplied in both colors.SRV Ron

See how this looks. It is the rusty brown converted to a nice fresh black paint job.It was done by processing the texture through the color adjust, hue -saturation - lightness. to Hue (Doesn't matter), Sat -100, Lightness -33. The setting removes all color and darkens the remaining grey scale. The track texture was isolated from the change. The alpha channel is not affected.SRV Ron

RE: Just about done

After a lot of fiddling with orientation of assembled segiments to align rails to the West, Berm end to the South and all the piers to face the correct way, all that is left is the 82 foot concrete end pier to construct. The Milwaukee Road kit is about ready for upload. Here is a pic in the test route.SRV Ron

RE: Just about done

Did the telegraph and power poles on the bridge last night when this forum shut down. Still have the concrete North viaduct to finish.Final plans are to upload this as three kits.Kit 1 will be the complete bridge as pictured above in black. It will contain the preassembled sections to construct this bridge as it is pictured in Beverly. All power poles and telegraph poles are included.Kit 2 will be the complete bridge as in kit 1 but will be silver.

Kit 3 will be just the basic components spans, piers, and poles. The TSModeler parts will be included.SRV Ron

This is one sweet bridge. Nice and easy to put together. Terrain DEM'd from actual location of bridge, Beverly Washington. The mountains don't show up right from such a distance though. Thanks once more Ron.(Unfortunately, terraserver doesn't even have the topomaps for just east of this area. Makes it hard to do markers.....)Todd

Yep, it's over the old Portage Canal. The girder portion of it is still in use. However, the lift towers are long gone. The abutments are a bit different due to it's former life.Best,
