Hi, I'm new to route building and am starting by just building a small intermodal yard. Maybe 4 or more tracks and a double track mainline to the side... I'm just fooling around now but cant figure out how to delete track sections. It probably sounds dumb but i just can't figure out how! Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for any help.

RE: HELP!!!
It is really quite simple. Open the route in the Route Editor. Locate the track to be deleted. Hit F2 which puts you in edit mode. Move the mouse pointer over the track section until it turns red and left click. When it changes to a wire-fram display, hit the delete key. You might have to hit delete as many as three times before the track section is gone. Repeat for each section you want to delete.Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, ORColumbia Gorge Route (The Dalles Yard done, proceeding to lay track Westward approaching an East/West region boundary. Keep your fingers crossed!)

RE: HELP!!!
Hi, I'm having another little problem... Ok, I made some straight track that went double track. I chose a switch layed it down and spent forever making dynamic track to work. I got it right and path editor allows it. But I goto reload the route to continue working and... I get an error cannot load track database. so i open up RE using rebuild track database. I have red things sticking out of the switches. I figure that i did something wrong with a switch? I fool around more and lay down 2 diamonds and a little biut more track and try to save and cannot save track database. Then i get the Send don't send error.Anyone have any idea whats wrong?sorry for bothering you guys with a newbie question.Thanks.here are 2 photos. forst is of the redline coming out of the switch.(I also have one at my spur switch) And the second it the switch, curve etc.

RE: HELP!!!
Good grief!Have you used about 20 dynamic tracks there? No wonder the track database vomited! First, in creating a switch, you use the appropriate switch track, then you use the corresponding EndPnt track listed above it in the track section list box. You will probably have to then press the "T" key to switch it. In other words, if you use a right hand switch, then you want to use the right hand EndPnt.Second, your entire route should have less than that many dynamic tracks in it. Dynamic tracks are real tricky, and they will eat a track database up without so much as a "Please."Third, you need to get the Step by Step Guide to Route Building for MSTS - http://trainsimulatorworld.com/catalog/b470.htm . This will be of immense help.Lawrence
