When i use ts modeler to build things, i cant move my entire model, only individual parts of that model that i select. How can i select everything at once, to move my whole model along the x,y,or z axis?

You'll probably, eventually, get an answer here, but you might want to try your luck at the TSModeler forum at Abacus.
Or, open the Train Sim Modeler Help file, found here:Archived thread - Read only Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 2And you'll see this. It should be self-explanatory:Archived thread - Read only Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 3Hope this helps.
HawkEdit 1: Well, scratch the TSModeler forum. I went to their site and couldn't find a link to it. I could have sworn there was one."Last night I heard an old freight whistle blow, as I was sleeping warmly in your bed. And it told me: "Boy, it's time that you were packing up to go", but I smiled and shook the leaving from my head."

RE: ts modeler

Under the parts command, there is a command called "join selected". Basically, to create something in TSM, you first create the various parts, and then (if you wish), you can join the parts together to create a single item. In fact, sometimes a part is made up of an assemblage of smaller parts. This was confusing to me as well, until I finally took the bull by the horns and also got help from Ron Picardi and others. AT the time my particular problem was bridges, for example then, how do you make a through girder bridge? For simplicity, it might be made from 3 rectangular shapes, floor, and both sides. Each side is created completely as a single part. The other side might be a totally different part, or might be a mirrored copy of the first side. Then the floor is sort of a flat plate, with defined width, thickness, and length. Now you have three parts, but not yet a bridge. So now take the two sides and position them on either side of the floor, select all three at the same time, and do the "join selected" and behold you have a bridge. This is a simple case, and assumes that you know how to put textures on each surface etc.J. H. Sullivan, P.E. (retired - Clinchfield Nut)

RE: ts modeler

Before Join Selected will work, you have to select the parts to join.It is best if all texturing is done before joining parts as it is much more difficult to do so once joined. Also, there is no Explode Parts command in TSModeler. Once joined, they are always joined. You can either Select All from the Edit menu first, or selectively select the individual items first. There are keyboard shortcuts for this. They will change color as they are selected.Once joined, you may need to reset the center axis and possibly the axis rotation before further use of the part. When ready to create the part, be sure to center the object to the orgin and set the center axis in order to avoid having the part vanish when viewed close up in the RE and MSTSThe JS bridge is a simple example of creating parts. The truss bridges are made of hundreds of basic parts joined together in assembled components.SRV Ron

To move the entire model in TSM use 'EDIT, SELECT ALL' then move the model in the normal manner. To separate parts after they have been joined, go into polygon mode, select all the polygons that you want to separate then use 'PART,SPLIT PART'To join parts, make a part current, select it with the spacebar, make the part you want to join current, select it with the spacebar. Do this until all the parts that you want to join are selected, then use 'PART,JOIN SELECTED' (or hit the j key).John Forte
