I am trying to make some signal shapes to use with the Chicago Elevated route, but am having trouble getting them to light when in the route. They look very similar to the picture below. They have three states, green (next two signal blocks clear), yellow (next signal block clear), and red (next block occupied). These are displayed all by lights. I may be wrong, but believe I'm doing something wrong with my naming conventions of the parts, and was wondering if anyone could help me with that beyond what's in MS's techdocs. If anyone has further insight into my problem, or knows I'm going in the worng direction, please also help.-Chris MSTS Chicago-L

RE: Naming conventions for signal objects?
I suspect this one is gonna cost you some money. What you do is send Hank Sundermeyer an all-expenses-paid vacation package to Chicago, and we'll take him riding the EL. That'll get him hooked, and he'll want to make the signals for you!

RE: Naming conventions for signal objects?
People keep telling me to have him make them for me, but I don't want that. I would like his help, if he's out there listening, with some advice, but I would like to learn to create them myself. I know that I will need to create them again, so instead of always begging, I would like to gain the knowledge not to beg. -Chris Chicago-L

RE: Naming conventions for signal objects?
Hi,Chris, have you looked in the signal files that came with the Marias3? Bob put in some comment that may be usefull. Not that much but it may be a start. In fact, I think these files are interesting to study. In case you don't have those files, I attached them. Also take a look at http://hagen.knop.bei.t-online.de/ What that German guy has done with signals is great. Download his set and figure out what he has done.Dick van den Hoven
