Jan-13-02, 08:32 AM (EST) "California Routes??" I was just wondering if anyone besides Nalle is doing a route based on a California location? I sent away for the Tehachapi route, and I think Hobart is doing a C.A. route as well. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanx

Jan-13-02, 05:56 PM (EST) 7. "RE: California Routes??" Hobart Yard has a small intermodal yard, I just got the crane for it yesterday so it'll be awhile before I can get to that area. No this isn't related to any 3rd party. Its my fiasco from start to finish, and will be free of charge.

Thanks for the encouragement.Best Regards

Feb-07-02, 00:33 AM (EST) 20. "RE: California Routes??" Hey Daylighter,
I was going to upload it, but was holding out for some decent info on how to zip the ace file. Currently it's 1.5 megs, but today I downloaded the new TGAtool and it zipped down to about 650k not quite the 171k Kuju used on theirs. I'll put up the palm tree and signal bridge later this week.My reskins of Kevin Shea's FP45 at the natural crossover.

Q: Is that cantilever signal bridge from the last version of the searchlight signal package?
I don't know if WP used them but I'd like to use them anyway! Gotta be able to use some artistic license, right?Message Areas - "California Routes??" – image 7 Nalle Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jan-14-02, 02:02 AM (EST) 12. "RE: California Routes??" Excellent! Looking forward to it.
I'm about 99% done with tracklaying. I'm finishing up at Portola (the "shop" area where the museum is now) and then I have some industrial trackage at Oroville left to do...
Then I'd like to signal the whole route and build some bridges and trackside structures before release, So it'll still be a while. Good thing one doesn't realize how much work it is when you start!!!!Message Areas - "California Routes??" – image 8 Nalle Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

I've considered Banning Pass too. From this vantage point it looks just as steep as Cajon. You wouldn't happen to know where I can get my grubby mitts on some tunnel motors do you?

Feb-08-02, 06:14 PM (EST) 26. "RE: California Routes??" I am working out the NorthWestern Pacific & California Western, runs from just north of San Francisco to Eureka up the Eel River..Willits to Ft. Bragg.. Finding it near impossible to get the terrain looking remotely close tho. Seems the area around Ignacio, which is barely above sea level ether has a big ditch with 30M Dem or a shallow ditch with 10M.. The track can be fairly close, but the Eel and Russian Rivers are a lot more than a mild trench or depression..as is what I get now..Wont have to worry about signaling if I have find a compromise on the terrain as this line does not use any, all timetable and manual signalling..
