It would be really cool to have either the boston or new york subway system (I figued boston would be easier) If anybody is interested you can goto www.mbta.com and click on the subway section for maps and everything else.Jeremy

RE: ANYBODY WANT TO BUILD THE BOSTON SUBWAY SYSTEM?
Isn't there a way to raise the level of the terrain? There are ways to make tunnels through mountains, it has to be possible some how. If it isn't then MICROSHAFT needs to make a patch or expansion pack with more stuff.

RE: ANYBODY WANT TO BUILD THE BOSTON SUBWAY SYSTEM?
I think it would be very possible to layout the subway track system on the surface of the ground as you would any normal route, but then cover it with modular objects that represent the tunnel structure and the station structures. There are buildings on the existing routes that cover the tracks, so I believe that would be very possible. Texturing of the objects would be a challenge to make them appear dark with appropriate lighting effects in stations and tunnels. The signal system would also have to be custom made to fit in the confines of the tunnels. The complexities of transit systems where tracks can be stacked in tunnels over each other and the need for complex switchwork such as double crossovers will be a problem. Also, the outside view cam would be hard to use without revealing the "world beyond" the subway tunnels, but if one stuck with an in cab view, the effects could be very nice as you speed down a darkened tunnel and see the brightness of the next station. Combine this with grade level and elevated lines in the outer boroughs, and I think it would be a great route.
