Ok, here is a pic of a model I'm working on. It's supposed to be an unshrouded J, called a J1. It's definitly not done yet, and the textures are kinda funky, but I hope it will work, because that LOD manager still doesn't seem right. Anyway, tell me what you think.Have a nice day
-Mike

looking good, much better than what I started with one thing I do see is your leading wheels n your front truck look too small, you might want to check into that. I'm not sure though.

RE: N&W J... sort of...

Thank you for your opinions, everybody. Here is another pic, after another hour of work. I made the front wheels a bit bigger, and I filled in some spaces. If the LOD manager still won't work, would anyone with gmax ( or any other modeling program ) want to make the LODs? I have doubts that mine is still messed up. When I get the time, I will do the animation, which will be tough. I will work on the textures a bit more, because they seem too plain. But, after that, it's on to the tender!
-Mike BTW, how can I make windows for the cab? So you can see thru them...Have a nice day
-Mike

RE: N&W J... sort of...

Hey Jay611, just to let you know I will be modeling the N&W Class J 4-8-4 #611. Just to let you know I'm not going to model it quick, I'm going to take my time and use some drawings I have to model it down to every detail. I have first started modeling the tender of the J class, then after that I will start on the engine. Since this is my first model I want to start with something easy before I start on the engine.Adam

The slower the better. some one else was modeling the j, I think it was altitude2000 or something like that. He had it going for a while, but he stoped updating us on how it was coming along. take your time on the j. remember, practice makes perfect.Jason Underwood
