By the way! GREAT add-on that you guys at NALW have created!! BOY OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY, you guys will certainly be the talk of the town now!~BUT, unfortunately, I already have a question.. After loading the whistle patch, the whistle plays short "blips" and cannot be sustained for any period of time.. Did I miss something or am I completely out of it when it comes to steam whistles used by UP!?!?Thanks for any help you can provide, cdntrains"must be trains in the blood" http://www.frograil.com/gifs/gifs.htmcdntrains "Railroading from SEA to SKY"

Same problem here, plus the sound file increased the volume of the whistle so much, I almost blew out my speakers the first time I played the updated sound file...

RE: NALW: About the BB Whistle and it's patch..
Having contributed some ideas about sound, I was privelidged to download BB early yesterday. I didn't have any whistle sound, and looking at the SMS files, found the whistle pointing to ( 1 File( "../../Common.Snd/Horns/BB_whistle1.wav" -1 ) I noticed there was a sound file, BB_whistle.wave in the sound folder. By changine the cab sms line to the following, and the eng. sms sound, x_BB_whistle.wave the same way, the problem was solved.( 1 File( "BB_whistle.wav" -1 )(note "whistle.wav" not "whistle1.wav". This sound file is a very well done whistle, definitely from BigBoy, and it loops flawlessly. My only other complaint is my video card. I normally get 24-33 fps with my branch lines and short trains(detail sliders maxed, no shadows, but huge amounts of trees, buildings, etc. BB and tender on Marias gets 12-16 and with the train, about 7 or 8fps. Great engine, long in the tooth video card!

RE: NALW: About the BB Whistle and it's patch..
Mine did the repeating short blast at first too (after I pointed it at the right file), now that I think about it! I added a marker just inside the loop in the wav file, and this may have been the actual fix. I forgot to mention it. If NALW doesn't post a patch that fixes things, I'll see what I can do in a day or two.Since I had a sort of early release, I don't know what last moment fixes were done, nor have I seen the current patch, so It's tough to know just what the problem is. It is fixed on mine, so I know it can work right! It's really a nice job too.
Any chance you can post me the looped wav file? I applied the NALW patch that's supposed to fix the whistle but it didn't happen. Thanks.bill res0958z@verizon.net
