Bingo I finley got the thing to upload.

RE: N&W Skunk Scheme

Nice looking Loco's. I rode behind two of them in 1983 from Norfolk to Lynchburg and back. The crown sheet in the 611 cracked as it pulled into Norfolk the night before our NRHS trip. NS put two of the units on the next train out of Roanoke that night and used them on our trip the next day. They kept the "Skunks" (also known as "Bandaids") in Roanoke most of the time to pull the Executive Office cars on special trips for a few years. This was a test paint scheme for use after the NW/Sou merger.Someone may want to reskin a couple of GE C30-6 units in Tuscan Red with Norfolk and Western in gold lettering. These were the "official" locomotives before the merger. These units were used in Sept, 1982 to pull the Norfolk to Roanoke trip when the 611 derailed on its way to the turn table in Norfolk. The 611 was pull unceremoniously backwards to Roanoke by a diesel with a caboose coupled to the pilot as VA was still under the caboose law at the time.Carlyle Thompson ACL Purple and Silver
