Zow! I just checked out the download site, and there have already been 107 downloads of the route. Please be patient if you have any problems with installation. I can only access my home email in the evenings, so during the working day on the US east coast, you won't get an immediate response when you email me. I also don't check the forum except at lunch, so sit back, relax, and run another route if you're having problems. I'll get back with you as soon as I can. Hopefully, though, there won't be many problems, and everyone can enjoy a bit of mountain railroading! And before I forget, I owe a lot of thanks to many members of the forum who have helped with their advice and tips. Some have been direct and patient responses to my specific (and sometimes simple-minded) questions, but the general discussions of all the topics have been an enormous help. There's no way I could have done anything without the help here. Thanks to all who post those terrific, informative messages, and thanks to everyone who uploaded some item or other that's made it into the route.Andy Miller

Installed fine. Needed 2 engines to get up the grade. There seems to be a missing Bridge 1.23 miles before you get to Osier, thats the only one I noticed, but I wasn't paying all that much attention. Please send us the missing con files or just put a link up to them on your site. Great Job!!! John

RE: C&TSRR Route now available - and thanks to all!

Hi,Nice looking route, i started at Antonia or something like that not running it at the moment, but there are a few bridges missing there as well. But just starting to play with routes myself, i can understand the massive amount of work that goes into even a small route, let alone long routes, and how easy it would be to miss these things.Well done.Best Shaun.

RE: C&TSRR Route now available - and thanks to all!

That's a Route Riter issue, Will, the ref file gets saved as a regular text file and it truncates the whole thing, so nothing but the object menus from the dat files is available. To fix it, open CTSRR.ref in wordpad, then save as, unicode text file, CTSRR.ref. It doubles in size and gives you all the objects he used on the route, but if you want to add more you'll have to stuffitpack it.
Something a lot of people haven't caught onto yet, the ref file is only used by the route editor, and you can place any ref file in there as long as all the shape & texture files listed in the ref file are in the prorper folders. For example, you can rename CTSRR.ref to CTSRR.bak, then copy marias.ref in there, rename it to CTSRR.ref, copy the shapes and textures files from USA2, and you'll have access to a bunch of USA2 objects. Once the objects are placed on the route, the info is now stored in the \World\*.w files, so you can rename the current CTSRR.ref (marias.ref copy) to CTSRR.bk1, rename the CTSRR.bak back to CTSRR.ref, and place other objects. That's the way we did it before the combined ref files. As far as bridges not showing up, check that your options, advanced display settings, world objects density slider is all the way up to 10, some bridges don't show up at settings less then 7 or 8. Better to set visibility to 500, turn off specular lighting and high detail shadows if you're having low framerates, and set world objects density to max.
