Feb-07-02, 09:57 PM (EST) "Set of four beautiful A-4's in the library!" LAST EDITED ON Feb-07-02 AT 09:58 PM (EST)My hat is off to Peter Harvey for the four beautiful A-4 steamers he created. The A-4 and its streamlined body were designed be Sir Nigel Greley in the 1930s. Most famous was the MALLARD the world's fastest steam engine in its day.The only fault I give the models is the North American whistle Peter selected. Thanks, Peter!Rich

Thanks for comments about the A4sSorry about the whistle but living in Australia I just cant get close enough to get a good clear recording of a real A4 whistle. I have been told be a very reliable source (He works at the Railway where 60007 is in presevation) that it is close but not perfect.Watch this site for the streamlined carriage set built with the Silver link to create the Silver Jubilee. Many Thanks

LAST EDITED ON Feb-08-02 AT 12:56 PM (EST)G'day Peter...Unless I have missed one, I thought you might have done "Commonwealth Of Australia" in your A4 set Nice work, a beautiful loco, my favourite UK at least !(would rather have seen Sir Nigel out here in 88 for Austeam than "the haggis")Cheers,OZ (from Adelaide where we have NO summer !!) A4 fansI am currently building a LNER coronation carriage set with the beaver tailed obsevation car and as some may or may not know the first garter blue A4s were built (painted) for this train all named after countries in the commonwealth and as far as that Commonwealth of Australia goes, guess which loco I am building to pull that carriage set, i have also nearly completed a LNER green version the Golden Eagle that I will release soon.many thanks again PeterPS your right not much of a summer here in Adelaide.
