Feb-01-02, 01:42 PM (EST) "Is there an "open" Coil Carrier available anywhere?" Hi All,
Does anyone know for a "Hot-Rolled" coil wagon anywhere, or anyone making one? I mean the type you would see in the UK going in and out of the steelworks, (e.g. BSC Port talbot etc). They are usually in two types. One is with 2 coils both lying upright so the overhead crane with a "hook" can lift then on and off, and the other is more of a flat with the coils lying in a "top-Hat" situation with a different type clamp/hook needed to remove them. Hope someone knows what I'm talking about here :-D I used to be a truck driver for about ten years and have been in and out of more steelworks/Foundries (sp?) than I can remember. I would love to see a few of theses types modeled as they would greatly enhance MSTS in my opinion. I can't wait for the Blast furnace to be finished as I will be using it in my HUGE steelworks! Thanks for any info guy'sAndrew (Class37) Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

<SNIP>Look in the file library under freight wagons, you'll find two coil carriers with and without loads that are almost identical to UK ones.Best Regards,

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention the "hot-rolled coils are moved in OPEN waggons, unlike "cold-rolled prime coil" which is ALWAYS moved in closed (and bone dry!) waggons. The file library only contains the "closed" type sadly, which is why I was, (and still am) looking for the open kind
Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will eventually think about making one. Thanks anyway and best regards,Andrew (Class37) Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
