Dec-06-01, 06:03 AM (EDT) ""UNICODE TEXT DOCUMENT"; CAN THESE BE EDITED?" Hey Bobs, thanks for the help it worked great but, i have another interesting problem, it seems that if the activity or route has the ext. "unicode text document" it won't let me edit it,is there some way around this block? I See this with the CLW,(colombus locomotive works ESE-TRAINSET),also if you go to 'START,PROGRAMS,ACCESSORIES,WORDPAD and open to 'Trainset'and click on the default freight cars, you should see at the bottom of box "unicode text doc." Not all the cars have this, here are a few off the top of my head, Chemical Car.wag,US2Freight Car1.wag and frt.car2.wag,Graincar.wag,and US2DbleHtFrghtB1.wag. Thanks again for help....Tim D. Dec-06-01, 10:08 PM (EDT) 3. "RE: "UNICODE TEXT DOCUMENT"; CAN THESE BE EDITED?" If I understand what you described, I'd guess that you don't display the full file name in Windows Explorer. By that I mean, you don't display the suffix. I think that is the default, to not display it. Another "helpful" hand from MS.In Explorer, click on Tools, then folder options, then select the View tab. About half way down the list of options is one that says "Hide file extensions for known file types." Uncheck that one and save. Now you can see the real file name for each of the files, not MS's assumed meaning for it. The .wag files you mentioned can all be edited with a Unicode editor such as Wordpad. While I have looked at things in Word, I don't think I've saved them, not trusting the formatting that it does.
