Fellow MSTS sufferers:
A new problem has developed recently in two areas of the Mesaba Electric route, and they seem to have to do with viewing direction. First, here's a shot of the car standing still on the street, and the camera is looking west:

Everything looks good, until the camera swings around and looks east. The car hasn't moved:

Notice that some buildings are now missing, but their shadows are still there. From inside the car, most of the cab disappears:

But as the car moves down the street, the cab reappears in sections:

This happens with ANY piece of rolling stock on this particular tile, but only looking generally east. It also occurs on another tile further down the line. Anyone have any clues?

>It is a strange problem :s It is very strange, especially about the cab. But if it is only one train, it is very high chance that the cabview is aliased directly from the .eng file but since it happens with every car...

HAPPY NOW? It's not moving anymore.
It's still the same train but in another livery, that's all.

RE: Not flying, only disappearing scenery

My guess is that it's probably a video ram problem. That area of Mesaba is so highly detailed that there is a huge amount of number crunching going on behind the scenes. My system is P2, 350MHz, 384 megs of ram and a 64 meg video card, and the Hibbing area of Mesaba and the NZ route both can bring it to its knees - but the scenery in both cases is so gorgeous, i'll put up with it till i'm able to upgrade.Hope this is of some help...Tim
