The forum has been set up for the project of Modelling the Severn Valley Railway in the UK, it is a unique project in that it does not use any default objects (Apart from track & Road shapes and the route is 100% photoreal. It contains much in the way of animated scenery, birds flying around, Farmers working in the fields etc...There will be much more posted on here shortly as soon as Mike gets over here I am sure he will fill you in on all the details.

RE: what is this place

The SVR route is well known to us down here (NZ) from the various TV progammes and movie scenes filmed there. Was that wonderful episode from 'Last of the Summerwine', where the lads 'kidnapped' the tank loco, filmed on the SVR? Also, was that marvellous TV series, 'God's Wonderful Railway*' filmed there, too?I don't usually purchase payware add-ons (budget constraints) but this looks like a winner.*Is this series available on DVD?

Hi Captain Bazza, Not sure, I know stacks of movies have been made on the route but which ones I couldnt tell you, mike (Bluearrow) is likely to know.I am doing the route build - the wonders of modern technology the route is being built by me here in (not so sunny) Michigan of all things! What is this place – image 14

Captain Bazza,God's Wonderful Railway was indeed filmed on the SVR at Highley. I don't think that Last of the Summer Wine was (more likely to be somewhere like the Keighley & Worth Valley as it's nearer to where it is filmed).Other things filmed that I know of are:
Goodnight Mr. Tom - (starring the late John Thaw)
Oh, Dr Beeching - BBC Comedy series filmed at Arley
Simon Magus (Channel 4 films - I think - I helped out with this one at some ridiculous hour in the morning!)
One of the 39 Steps films - filmed on Victoria BridgeIain White
(Beta Tester for SVR route and volunteer on the real thing)
