On a route I'm working on,when you cross from track0 to track1 using a Switch switch you get the point sound from the train (E217 in this case).A short distance ahead the train just goes over another switch but stays on the running track without turning again but this time there,s no point sound.
The question is what determines BVE using the point sound?Do you have to be turning onto the switch and not just crossing it?In reality wouldnt you get the sound just going over it and how can you have it sound if BVE doesnt make it so?Thanks

The point sound is triggered at the position where another track meets track 0.--

So just having a switch or rail object is not enough. There needs to be an indexed track touching track0.I assume I can use a track with a null rail at that point to make it happen,if I dont need a visible track there. Thanks for the help.

Eh, where did my signature go?
Where has my favourite LUL train gone? Maybe it was sent for bolt checking again...

RE: Point sound

>The sound will trigger whenever it crosses a rail. I don't think it even has to be an at grade crossing. I built a monorail route that crosses a standard rail about 7 meters up. I get a crossing sound when the monorail crosses the standard rail.

RE: Point sound

You are correct. It was my error. I went back and checked the junction. There was another (invisable) rail at 7 metere high and that is what I am hearing. Complex place, there are 9 rails of one type or another at this place at 0, .1, 7 and 10 meters high and I lost track of one tracks position.
