newbie question: I realize sound is integral to gameplay, but sometimes I just want to run a familiar route during my break & listen to e.g. online-radio. but whenever I have another sound app running, bve hangs with a 'unable to initialize direct sound' error. any solution?

RE: how to switch off sound?
Not really I tried this too, but only if the sound output is another wave. If it used something like the CD output then you can do both! (I think....)

I have no problems here, listening to BBC LDN radio while driving LU/DLR routes. What is your Operating System?

RE: how to switch off sound?
hmmmm. odd.WinMediaPlayer and RealPlayer each complain that the audio device is already in use- and if I start them first, bve complains. .......but it actually works flawlessly with WinAmp! (?!?)something to do with circumventing default audio device setting maybe?OS:WinXp (home) DX9.0 Avance AC97 Audio (sound2) playback via TotalRecorder Emulator (sound1)(switching between card and my emulator doesn't affect anything, just catches streaming audio to .wav)btw: me, shocked at your guys answering speed !

RE: how to switch off sound?
Winmedia and RealPlayer both use the wav output! try Quicktime that works, it plays both at the same time!
