I just cant stand any more of these silly arguments going on these days. Moderator or not, question editing/deltion or not, let's just put this aside and think for a while that we are all a part of a community, a train sim community. Shouldn't we be all helping each other, sharing useful advices instead of getting at each other and saying who are doing things right ot wrong? It's not usual (these days) for me to post here as I've got my GCSEs now, but I am in fact looking here every day for news to update on my website and I just cant stand this. We should all realise how lucky we have all got a place back here after Crotrainz BVE forum is removed. Let's stop all these and get back to what we have before, no one wants another major BVE forum deleted again.PS I realise I may get critised for posting this message but I dont care I just want a permanent place for BVE discussion and I know a lot of us here wanted that as well.

I think it should stop now too. One of the moderators should lock the post NOW!

Storm. Tea cup. Let's just keep our heads down, keep coding and driving, and ignore outside attempts at stirring up trouble.I'm too new to BVE to have been affected by the CroTrainz thing, so I don't understand the history too well. However, at the risk of re-opening the whole debate (which is not the point of this post whatsoever), it strikes me that our reputation has preceded us and that individuals from outside the community are deliberately trying to provoke a response so that they can feel justified in taking hard action against us. They are pretty down on us in the General Forum.I think that we're just going to have to swallow some of our pride, ignore the goading and resist the temptation to make a mountain out of a molehill. Hopefully they'll get bored and leave us to continue doing what we do best; creating great sims.Technical NumptyArchived thread - Read only Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 5

So, you don't mind living and developing in an atmosphere of fear, loathing and mistrust? Hi Wulf!!Of course I'd love all train-simmers to live in peace and perfect harmony, but it just isn't going to happen. The point of my post was that we have allowed a small issue to be blown out of all proportion, stirring up a whole hornet's nest and causing waves of resentment/disappointment/frustration (delete as applicable) through the community that can do no good.Besides, I don't feel that the BVE community exists in an atmosphere as bad as you suggest. OK, so not everything is rosy in the garden, but we are generally a happy, healthy and helpful bunch. What we don't need is to go ballistic every time someone from outside the community points out the smallest flaw. I have to say that I did not enjoy visiting this forum last night and, if it wasn't for the promises I've already published elsewhere, I might just have chucked the whole thing in there and then.I hope that this clarifies my position on this, as I don't want to post about this again. Let's just move on and forget about it.Technical NumptyArchived thread - Read only Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 7

Hi Numpty,Don't get me wrong, I have no problems within our bunch at all, sh*t happens and people like anas come and go, but this is of another order entirely. I am being subjected to a vicious and unwarranted character assassination up there, if you all care so much for how I do things then go and chuck in your two pence worth. The stress this is putting me under is way too much to sustain so if you want to see a nuclear explosion, just sit back and do nothing.CiaoSaxon Locomotive Works - "The difficult we do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer"http://www.zodiac-infosystems.co.uk/rail/bve

RE: Why not stop all these now??

Wulf,I do support the work that the Moderators do, which includes you. I am also appalled that people have taken the opportunity to lambast you personally because they happen to have disagreed with your actions. What I am not going to do is add further fuel to what is already a rather large fire.I have requested that the Moderator on the General Forum lock the offending thread, but I doubt that they will do so, and have asked that they treat the BVE Community with a bit more respect. However, I refuse to sink to their level, cast myself as "just another BVE neanderthal" or give them any reason to remove this forum.I am quitely hoping that common sense will prevail, but then this is the internet. WHAT??? You support moderators? You have to think first. Last time, there was a new moderator, when he became one, he started going mad and asking everyone with big signatures to make it smaller. In the end, he wasn't a mderator anymore! So you have to think whether the moderator is doing right or wrong things first.

Oh dear.Everyone's human and, therefore, fallible. I'm not going to rise to the bait, and nor should anyone else.Where there are rules, there needs to be enforcement (I work in regulation, so I know this all too well). Therefore, to avoid anarchy and chaos, I support the work that the moderators do. Whether I agree with every call they make is my problem and no-one elses, and that's the way it should be. If I disagree strongly, I take it up privately with the individual concerned rather than launching a public attack. As my Gran would say, "Good manners cost you nothing. Always consider your words carefully."Technical NumptyArchived thread - Read only Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 10

I fully support Wulf's moderation.I also admit that I am fully responsible for this outburst. I posted an angry, overreacting response to delticmatt's post, hoping that he would be banned as he has caused some problems. The next I hear is that the thread has been deleted by Wulf : which is entirely sensible as my comments, when I reflect on them, were probarbly unsutible in the forum. No doubt there were flamed responses to my post but I was not online to see them. Therefore Wulf was perfectly right in deleting that thread. I now hear people complaining and taking it personally, as if it was against them. If there's anyone to flame, flame me. Wulf was only doing his job in keeping the forums in one piece. I have also noticed that it seems the MSTS people are coming into the BVE board, stirring up trouble, and then leaving. They may not have realised that the moderation on BVE boards is a lot stricter than what you will find on any MSTS forum - partly because of the high number of idiots using it. Problems aren't simply solved by a PM saying "Please don't do that again" several times, after a warning people are banned. That's how things work on the BVE forum and if MSTS people don't like it, then they don't have to visit.--

I know I have officially left but I have to make my point here.Having read all of the complaints against Wulf and reading some of the topics he's locked, I think he's doing a great job. Ok, maybe changing **** to words such as s**t and tellign peoepl to change their sig's is a bit over the top, and I agree, that should be stopped, but all in all, I feel he's doing fine. If this site had more mods like him, I would seriously consider returning to train-sim.com.I will now step down from my soapbox and return to Uktrainsim.13 Year old Steam Loco DriverThe Sea View Group

Sigh ...
I discovered BVE too late to 'experience' the Crotrainz incidents (and, with it, the opportunity to download many routes which are currently lost in the ether) - but not too late to see how people like a**s can nearly destroy something that brings great pleasure to designers and drivers alike.During the past month or so, Wulf has proven to be a great moderator who has kept the forum on track (pardon the pun), and who takes no sh*t from anyone. Great job - keep it up!I'm a humble 45 yr old who like to drive the trains!Chris

Why is it that a newbie is putting things like this:{/door}I find it a little offensive because he's come in and is acting like he knows everything. There are a few of us who are here from crotrainz, and who used BVE 1.0, we know most, not everything!

Phillip,I am not rising to that silly bait that is your current signature, and seeing as how you have sunk so low as to indulge in petty sniping about me and my website, then considering what you are like when the chips are down it's no surprise you wern't picked as moderator this time either. I agree. So let's you and I find something else to mull over. How
about the possibility of shunting activities in BVE? Other than
the fact that we can't control switches from BVE itself, is there
way to simulate spotting cars and building consists in BVE? What
changes would Mackoy have make to BVE to allow shunting and yard
activity? Christopher

So, of course, my views do not count.Call me a newbie if you like, because that is what I am, but don't just assume that I know nothing. I have already conceded that I was not around for the CroTrainz fiasco, but I would suggest that a more measured approach might just prevent it happening again. At this rate, you are going the right way about getting this forum deleted. Up until last week, I was happy to be identified with this forum. Now, I am utterly ashamed of it. I would expect better from the primary school children that my wife teaches. You find my disgust offensive? You really, really have no idea what you're talking about. What does it matter that Wulf deleted a thread? Who cares? We're all adults here!! Swallow your pride and get over it.{/door} = Goodbye!!Technical Numpty<You will notice that my banner is missing. This is because I no longer wish it to be associated with this goddamm awful mess of a forum.>
