RE: PO&N Beta V6 Screenshots

Not a bad looking route, lots better than that Buckeye Bodiddly thing. Just my unbiased opinion, of course. One tip, when you have multiple PO&N SD40s running, or any SD40 based on Jason Dilworth's model with Tim Kent's lighting mod, turning the headlights on will make some of the signals go dark like that. KUJU bug, there's a light source number limitation that the early lighting designers didn't know about. Archived thread - Read only Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 14Route editor gets kinda tedious sometimes, so I'm taking a break for a couple days and skinning the new SD40-2s for the PO&N, and they don't exceed the light count limit.Whatever happened to Jason and Tim, anybody know? Somebody oughtta do a patch for all those old SD40s to chop some of the step & bogie lights out of them.

Whatever happened to Tim ??I'm still here !!And yes way way back in the pioneer days of MSTS I was unaware of the lighting issues. I would get all annoyed when my signals would stop working on routes.Go back to the default engines............no problem !!It is hard to get accurate lighting and keep the number of coding below 25 unfourtunaly.Later all.PS: With the new SD-40's out I think you will begin to see the Jason Dilworth / Chris Lee / Tim Kent(me)/ SD-40's begin to fade away as repaints of the TA ones start to arise.Just my opinion.......Oh well back to Ghost Recon !!

RE: PO&N Beta V6 Screenshots

Oh, c'mon, you lazy bum, all you gotta do is rewrite an .eng file so we can copy the lighting lines and paste them into the .eng files for the old add-ons. Trouble is, Cadman ain't around any more, and the skins he did for those old PO&N SD40s still look a lot better than the new ones I did for the SD40-2s.
Off topic, I'm gonna get ghost recon one of these days, I recently tried "America's Army", and can't log on or save my results. I qualify with the M16, hit 39 out of 40 targets, and can't get to sniper school since the results aren't saved anywhere! As near as I can tell you have to create an online personna first, then upload the shooting score results after qualifying, since there don't seem to be any way to save them to your own disk. Can't create an online personna either, I got DSL but when I try to do it the screen just sits there and don't do anything after I type in a name and password. So what am I doing wrong?

Hey Jim,If you like I can edit that lighting if you wish. Just do me a favour and send me the entire PO&N SD40 so I don't need to go looking for files..I will fix the lights up to modern standards. ( In other words ....not 50 lines of light code !!! )( If I can remember how...we do have Kelly Ellison at NALW now : ) )heheGhost Recon you will enjoy immensly. It is probably an insane amout of hours I have put into that game.As for your America's Army character. I had the exact same problem with the first soldier I created. I started a new one as I got tired of completing training and it not saving it for me.Create a new soldier as I doubt it is anything that you are doing wrong !!Later Jimctober@shaw.caTim Kent

RE: PO&N Beta V6 Screenshots

Near as I can determine, there is no way to save it to your own disk. You have to be connected and select "login" to upload the results. I did get the login to work last night and created a character, but then it says it will send an email with the password and no email yet. They don't work weekends? I'm not sure if I like the whole idea, if something happens to the file on their server your scores are lost and you have to start over. Of course I've started over so many times I'm getting pretty good at it, hit 40 out of 40 last night. Another funny thing is you can't cheat, when I first tried it I used Ratwin to lower the mouse sensitivity so it wouldn't jerk around like that, but it kicks that setting out and uses it's own. So instead of trying to get it dead center with the mouse, I just get it close and wait for the "breathing" (there's also no "take a breath, let half of it out and hold it" key that I can find) motion to wobble it to dead center, then snap off the shot.As far as the original Jason Dilworth - Cadman painted SD40s, I dunno where Jason went, but I think Cadman is gone, so what I'll do is send you one of the PO&N SD40s, and you can send me back the .eng file, and I'll clone that for the other two and upload them.

Yes definitly dont know what happened to Cadman??As for Jason Dilworth...............His works at Maple Leaf Tracks keep him far too busy to visit herePS: I generally got my password within 15 minutes. I have 3 ongoing soldiers right now.2 good soldiers,......... and one I use when some guy on MY team keeps " annoying me with stupid actions " and he needs a 5.56 round to the face !!Then I get put in the brig. Re-log back on back as Malice and feel much better about myself( its funny to log back on and have your entire team telling the guy you had jest team killed that he had it coming !! )Tim Kent

RE: PO&N Beta V6 Screenshots

Well, after waiting 48 hours it never came back, maybe sn00py snuck in and switched some of the keys on my keyboard and I typed jwarde@aneritech.met or something. So I created a new soldier, reverting to my previous online handle of "Ratman", and this time got a password link within 2 minutes. Then I went thru the whole routine again, shot 40 out of 40, uploaded the results, and quit (had some real life stuff to do!). Tried to pick up where I left off and found I was back where I started at the beginning again, don't seem to be any way to find your "personnel" record online anywhere.
So I went thru it again, this time completing the whole basic course (only got 36 out of 40 that time) and then going on to Sniper School.Archived thread - Read only Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 21
Archived thread - Read only Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 22That sight is even more wobbly, but I'm officially a sniper now (altho under the name "Ratman75" rather than "Sniper297"!), assuming it sticks this time and I don't have to start over again.
I was out at Sears getting a new battery for my car today (the HAWK is almost here in Chi-town!) and I almost stopped at Best Buy to see if they had CFS 3 yet, but I figured I better wait until I finish PO&N6 before I buy that!Too many distractions, time to get back to work.Archived thread - Read only Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 23 "Wait a minute, that ain't WORK, you're playing with trains!"

Yeah, that's the worst trouble with decent eye candy in a clumsily coded program (here's hoping MSTS 2 will use something like the Quake 3 graphics engine instead!), with an AMD Palomino 1600+, 768mb DDR RAM, and a GEFORCE 4 Ti-4400 128mb AGP video card I drop to 5-12 FPS when I go crazy with the detail. But it looks so !

RE: PO&N Beta V6 Screenshots

Hee-hee, no, the in-cab signals are not specific to any route, that's in the cabview itself. gp38bsig.zip in the file library will give you that cabview with the digital mph readout and the signal repeater.
