Does Amtrak have any trains that cross the Canadian border and go into Vancouver, BC? What passenger service is available from Vancouver to the vicinity of Banff National Park in Western Alberta? Possibly via Calgary?Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, OR cal.rasmussen@verizon.netColumbia Gorge Route (Phase 1 track completed, 60% scenery, learning 3D Canvas)

Thanks, Andrew. There may be a rail vacation in the works. If it happens, I'll get LOTS of pictures.Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, OR cal.rasmussen@verizon.netColumbia Gorge Route (Phase 1 track completed, 60% scenery, learning 3D Canvas)

RE: Amtrak and Canadian Passenger service
That'll be a good trip. The only train the goes direct into BC for now is Amtrak Train #510, if you wanted to take a train from Portland, Or to Seattle, then go to Vancouver, you would have to take Train #516 to Bellingham then bus to Vancouver, BCGovernment of Canada does not want a second train to Vancouver, I forgot the reason, but if you have an account on Trainorders.com you can probably get an answer there.
