Hey Tim,Back in my teenage years,my friends and i used to pretend that we were in a band...you know to get the chicks.We used to tell them that our band name was "Sinister Roth"...I know it's kinda corny,but hey...it worked(teenage girls can be so gullable).And you can be sure no other band would have this name(LOL).BTW Tim,is that a solid state Marshall head your using?...come on man,you otta know better than that?(LOL).

>than that?(LOL). That is a 100W Valvestate head. I actually love the distorted sound I get with that amp. I recently had to get it serviced as I was getting a bad hum out of the amp...........In the mean time they gave me an on loan Marshall Dual Lead JCM 2000. This is the first tube amp I have ever played through and I gotta tel you..the clean sound was amazing, BUT to get any sort of good distorted sound you had to be at a volume level that was meant for arena's .Tim Kent

Sorry again.........The old name was Shell Shock. Our singer's nick name is Shell and she didn't want to have her name in the the band name as it wasn't fair to the other 4 of us.I dont care personally, but oh well gotta keep her happy !!

LOL,The last 3 posts took me almost 5 days. And yes if it wern't for flames I would not have half. I did not realize that your posts lowered when things got deleted though !!Oh wellBob hahn, I am not too concerned with legal issues as we will not be putting any CD's out under this name. For now we work 4 weekends a month generally Thurs to Sat nights ( sometime tues as well depending on the venue ). Anyways we are just a cover band. It's sad, but thats what makes money in this city. Original bands have almost no-where to play in Winnipeg. Wherea's we can play most of the year here and should maybe see the same bar 3 times.We were aware with the second " Altered State " site you posted, but we were not too overly concerened about it. Now the fact that you have posted 2 Altered State sites makes me even less concerned as it seems nobody cares who has that name ! Oh well gonna do some simming before bedtimeLater all

>Jake Generally we make between $1500 - $ 2500 for a Thurs / Fri / Sat night. We did quite a few Xmas parties this year which paid an average $ 1200. I actually hate doing the Xmas parties though because there is nothing worse than setting up all your gear and then having to take it down the same night. I would rather play 3 nights and make 100 bucks than play one night and make $500. Alright maybe not

Wouldn't worry too much about multiple bands with the same name if you aren't putting out an album. There are four bands in my and my brother's high schools alone with the name "Manifest", and every one of them plays a different style of music!!
