Perfect complement for train simulators, whichever one you prefer (had to get that tie-in first thing lest someone think this was OT ). Picked up a set of Altec Lansing AVS500B speakers tonight at OfficeMax for $49.95US. I was perfectly happy with my 2.1 Sony set, but surround speakers for a price that low was too tempting. Anyhow, I got home and found out there was a $10 mail-in rebate, bringing the total down to $39.95 for what IMHO is a very nice set of computer speakers. The satellites are plastic, but the subwoofer is in a heavy wood case which makes for better bass, a nice touch for such a low price. They make all the difference when you're hanging your head out the cab window, with the horn and dynamics coming from behind and clean bass chugging from the diesels. Just wanted to get the word out on the deal, don't know how much longer it lasts. If you have a SB Live or other sound card with 4 speaker support but you never could find low-priced surround speakers, these are a great set for a great price. Mr. F
