After work tomorrow morning I am going to do something for me, for once... The AFB is 5 minutes from my house and the other is downtown (about 20 min). I will take lots of pics and post a few this weekend...Gotta get to the rail yard too. The J.R. Davis UP yard is 2 minutes from here.. gotta get down there one of these days.. I used to live near McClellan AFB many years ago. I've been on the base many time when it was still an operating Air Force Base. I heard they closed it a few years ago but never heard what happened to it. Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, ORColumbia Gorge Route (Construction resumed on The Dalles Dam)

I am an outright Military Aviation freak !!Unfoutunatly our AFB up here in Winnipeg is home to nothing of ANY interest...........Hercs and the odd F5 ( yes we still have them !! )In fact the closest Fighter Wing to here is probably the CF18's in Alberta ( about 15 hours away )I bet there's some in North or South Dakota that are awsome and would be a heck of a closer drive..Any suggestionsHow far is Miramar .....heheor EdwardsTim Kent "Power for You" 96th_Malice

It is now used commercially, with some military operations still running. One of the big things is a regional training center for Police, Fire and Sheriff's Department. Lots of classes held there for community colleges as well. But the museum is still there...
