Mar-31-02, 12:25 PM (EDT) "Download Problem ???????" Can anyone tell me how I can download large files such as the cowcrk01 file orother ones that have very large MB ?????
I, have tried FlashGet, Download accelarator,MemMax, Modum Max and so on with no sccess.
The cowcrk01 file is just one of these files with large MB,s and others that are on the Trainsim download area. The mentioned above file I have tried to download since it has been released , one day I did it 5 times.....yes that is 5 times and everytime I did I got kicked off the Internet. It seems that the file will reach 76% and then boom...I'm off of down loading !!!!! This goes on and on and is very frustrating!!!!!
Would appreciate if someone could help me with what to do ??
The phone co. has been contacted to find out if the have digital wires and they said yes to this question....but that they have a
problem in my area and that means no DSL.
Sorry for the long message....but am about ready to give up Trainsim because I can not get the files that I am interested in.
I, have been with Flightsim for a long time and do not experiance this kind of problem with their downloads....but then again some of the files are not too large !!!!
I, am open for your thougts and possible help !!! Is anyone having problems like I am or........?????????
Cheers,

Mar-31-02, 07:49 PM (EDT) 2. "RE: Download Problem ???????" Ok, I do NOT use IE,
Netscape will not download large (10)meg files IMO, reliably.I never had any luck at least (ver 4.76 and before)
The site is aparrently NOT set up to take anything like GOzilla. I went and got a copy of Opera (its free) installed it, as my second browser, and can download 4 files at a time, RELIABLY from here.
The only time I have problems is 2 things-the phone line gets a glitch OR the computer sometimes gets overloaded...IE, I am trying to check mail and look at another page at the same time.
Watch the screen saver... it can swamp the processor and cause a drop out.
Check your modem settings, there are a few things that can be tweaked if necessary.

Mar-31-02, 09:50 PM (EDT) 3. "RE: Download Problem ???????" Howdy,I also have not been able to get this route downloaded.I have tried several times, probably 25 or 30 over the last couple of weeks.I start the download and as soon as it starts, I just let it run. I don't run anything else during the process. I just leave it to run it's course, but no luck. The farthest I have been able to get is 68%.I would really like to get this route, I think that is what makes it even more frustrating. I am curious to see if anyone can point us old fashioned dial up users in the right direction so it can be downloaded. Thanks,
Sam
