Mar-31-02, 04:23 AM (EDT) "Book of Condolence" I know this is nothing to do with trains, but for those who wish to express their sorrow and leave a message of condolence for the life of The Queen Mother, please leave your name and any message on this message board.

Mar-31-02, 08:29 AM (EDT) 1. "RE: Book of Condolence" LAST EDITED ON Mar-31-02 AT 08:30 AM (EST)I'd like to extend my condolences to all Englishmen on the passing of The Queen Mother. It's truly a sad thing, but at over 100 years of age I believe she had a full and long life. Best wishes from those of us on the other side of the pond.Bill

Mar-31-02, 08:33 AM (EDT) 2. "RE: Book of Condolence" 1940...the Liberty Movie house in Council Bluiffs, Iowa watching the Pathe News Reel. There was this small and elegant lady, on the screen, walking through the bombed out streets of London England with a smile that rivaled that mornings sun rise. I fell in love! May the peace of the Lord be with the Queen Mother! Don Shepley-Chicago Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-01-02, 02:46 AM (EDT) 5. "RE: Book of Condolence" Ryan, there is a train connection - Canada's Royal Hudson. In 1939 the Queen Mother (then Queen Elizabeth) crossed Canada by train. Westbound it travelled over CP lines, while the return trip was over CN. Canadian Pacific Hudson 2850 was given the honor of pulling the Royal Train to Vancouver.

This thread reinforces my belief in what I posted in another thread just a few minutes ago, and as I stated in that thread,
